Visit the Russian Church of Alexander Nevsky

This parish of the Russian Orthodox Church was founded in Rotterdam by Archimandrite Dionysius. He was active in the resistance during the Second World War. Amongst other people, he hid a Jewish woman. When she was not found during a search, he attributed this to a miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which had been given to him by a monk from India. He then vowed to start a Russian church in Rotterdam, dedicated to this icon.
